Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about working with Web Aesthetic — pricing, process, compliance, and SEO for medical aesthetics clinics.

How much does a website cost for an aesthetics clinic?
Website costs for aesthetics clinics start from £295. Web Aesthetic offers three transparent packages: Brand Design at £295 (logo, style guide, typography, colour palette), Web Design Core at £895 (5-page website, social media integration, 3 collaboration sessions, 1 month aftercare), and SEO/AEO Enablement at £1,395 (full audit, enablement sessions, optimisation action plan, 3 months aftercare). Bespoke packages are also available for practices with more complex requirements.
Is a deposit required to start work?
Yes. A deposit of 50% is required before work commences, with the balance due on completion. This is standard practice for project-based design and development work and allows us to ring-fence time and resource specifically for your project.
Do I own my website once it is built and paid for?
Yes. Upon receipt of full payment, all intellectual property rights in the deliverables transfer to you. We retain the right to display the work in our portfolio unless you explicitly request otherwise in writing.
Do you offer bespoke packages for larger or more complex clinics?
Yes. Our three published packages cover the most common requirements, but if your clinic has a larger treatment menu, multiple practitioners, an e-commerce element, or other specific needs, we can put together a bespoke proposal. Get in touch at info@webaesthetic.co.uk to discuss.
How long does it take to build a clinic website?
A typical aesthetics clinic website takes 2–4 weeks from kickoff to launch, depending on how quickly content and assets are ready. The process is structured around 3 collaboration sessions — requirements gathering, design review, and pre-launch walkthrough — all scheduled outside clinic hours to fit around your practice.
What is included in the Web Design Core package?
The Web Design Core package (£895) includes tailored requirements gathering to scope your project, a 5-page professional website, social media profile integration, 3 expert-led collaboration sessions (all recorded for your reference), and 1 month of aftercare support after launch. The website is built around your clinic's specific brand and patient journey — not a generic template.
What happens during the collaboration sessions?
Each session is structured around a specific stage of the project: the first covers requirements and scope, the second is a design review where you give feedback, and the third is a pre-launch walkthrough including content training. All sessions are recorded so you can revisit them at any time, and all are scheduled outside clinic hours.
Can I update my website myself after it is built?
Yes. Training is built into the aftercare phase of every project. All collaboration sessions are recorded so you can revisit any training at any time. We make sure you're fully confident managing your own content before we consider the project complete.
What is your cancellation policy?
Either party may cancel an engagement by giving 14 days' written notice. In the event of cancellation, you will be invoiced for all work completed up to the cancellation date. Deposits are non-refundable unless Web Aesthetic is unable to fulfil the agreed services.
Why do aesthetics clinics need a specialist web designer?
Medical aesthetics websites require a designer who understands both clinical compliance and patient psychology. Key considerations include ASA advertising restrictions on cosmetic procedures, CQC registration requirements, before-and-after image guidelines, and the specific language patients use when searching for treatments. A generalist agency rarely understands these constraints — which can lead to non-compliant content or websites that fail to attract the right patients.
What makes Web Aesthetic different from other web agencies?
Web Aesthetic is co-founded by Dr Gemma Wormwell — a GMC-registered, practising doctor in cosmetic dermatology with an MBChB from the University of Liverpool — and James Wormwell, a software engineer with 15+ years of experience at companies including Arm, Jaguar Land Rover, and IBM. Gemma brings first-hand understanding of the medical aesthetics world — CQC, ASA, patient care, treatment terminology — while James delivers technically excellent, modern websites. Medical aesthetics is our entire focus, not a niche we occasionally work in.
Do you offer SEO for aesthetics clinics?
Yes. The SEO/AEO Enablement package (£1,395) is purpose-built for medical aesthetics clinics. It includes a comprehensive SEO audit and written report, 5 enablement sessions that walk you through optimisation strategies, a bespoke action plan tailored to your local area and treatment menu, and 3 months of aftercare support. All sessions are recorded so you can revisit them at any time.
What is AEO and why does it matter for aesthetics clinics?
AEO — Answer Engine Optimisation — is the practice of structuring your website content so it can be read and cited by AI-powered search engines like Perplexity, ChatGPT Search, and Google's AI Overviews, as well as voice assistants. As more patients use these tools to find local treatments, clinics that are well-optimised for AEO appear as direct answers — not just links. Our SEO/AEO Enablement package covers both traditional search and answer engine visibility.
Do you work with aesthetics clinics outside the UK?
Yes. While we are based in Ramsbottom, Greater Manchester, all our collaboration sessions are conducted via video conferencing and scheduled to fit your time zone. We work with medical aesthetics practitioners across the UK and internationally.
